The Sanitation Lead oversees all cleaning and sanitation operations for food contact areas, ensuring strict compliance with HACCP, GMP, and CFIA standards. This role maintains the highest cleanliness and food safety standards across Ready-to-Eat and Not-Ready-to-Eat zones while leading sanitation teams and driving continuous improvement of sanitization protocols.

What will you be doing?

• Manage comprehensive sanitation programs across all production areas, equipment and food contact surfaces
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, GMP, and CFIA regulations throughout all cleaning operations
• Supervise sanitation activities in both RTE and NRTE zones with strict cross-contamination controls
• Enforce and regularly review Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, identifying improvement opportunities
• Partner with management to develop and revise sanitation protocols as needed
• Lead and train sanitation teams on proper cleaning methods, chemical handling and food safety practices
• Complete required sanitation documentation and logs in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and address any deficiencies immediately
• Oversee proper chemical usage, storage and equipment maintenance
• Participate in audits and recommend process improvements
• Maintain workplace safety compliance during all sanitation activities

Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years in food manufacturing sanitation, preferably in bakery sector
• Knowledge of HACCP principles, GMP requirements, CFIA regulations and SSOPs
• Understanding of cleaning techniques and chemical applications in food manufacturing
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation
• Shift flexibility required for night shift (11pm-7am)

Nice-to-Haves

• Additional training in food safety, quality assurance or sanitation
• Sanitation leadership experience (team lead or supervisory)
