Position Overview:
Our client, one of the leading organizations in the automotive manufacturing industry, is rapidly growing. Their C-level management is in search of a sharp Payroll Associate who will help achieve the primary objectives of the Payroll Team, by being responsible for the timely and accurate production of payroll and benefits.
What will you be doing?
- Apply proper payroll processes and controls to guarantee completeness and accuracy of all payroll-related activities
- Ensure all payroll-related accounting principles, policies, procedures, and legislated requirements are fulfilled
- Conduct manual calculations for cheques, leaves of absence, benefits, and adjustments
- Oversee communication with third-party payroll providers
- Handle process for new hires, terminations, ROEs, employee status, compensation, and benefit changes
- Confirm proper account set-up and distribution of salary, positions, and accounts
- Analyze payroll summaries for completion and accuracy
- Verify the accuracy of the system through data entry, audits, and dedicated monitoring and troubleshooting
- Setup user access profiles and provide training on the application of the payroll system to employees
- Prepare and balance T4s, T4As, and T2200s for staff and send an electronic copy to CRA
- Handle year-end audit, reconciliations, and preparations for all payroll accounts
- Oversee group benefits program internally and communicate with benefits providers when needed
- Enter and maintain online benefits data and manage any claims (STD/LTD)
- Be the main point of contact for any benefit inquiries
- Enter all HR data into the HRIS system in a timely fashion
- Follow all policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with the established quality management system
- Have an understanding of safety policies and regulations to ensure all activities are performed in a safe manner
Must Haves:
- 4+ years of experience processing payroll
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Accounting
- PCP designation is an asset
- Experience working with ADP is a must
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Knowledge of employment standards legislation and payroll accounting practices
- Experience working in an automotive plant/manufacturing environment is a considerable asset
